Radha Krishna Images and How Shree Krishna Died
The war of Mahabharata, which lasted eighteen days, achieved nothing except bloodshed. In this war, the entire Kaurav clan was destroyed. In the Pandavas clan, except the five Pandavas, most of the people were killed. But due to this war, after the war, another dynasty was eliminated, ‘Yaduvansh of Shri Krishna ji’. The Mahabharata is the form of war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas that had turned the soil of Kurukshetra red. It is said that so many people lost their lives in this fierce war that even today the soil of Kurukshetra (where the Mahabharata war was fought) is red in color.
Maharishi Ved Vyas compiled the story of Mahabharata in 18 volumes. The war of Kurukshetra is the biggest part of this book, but after the war, a lot remains that it is very important to know about it. The death of Lord Krishna and the incident of entering in the Dwarka river is very important. Mausal festival is one of the 18 festivals which is a compilation of 8 chapters. This festival describes the omission of the human form of Lord Krishna and the incident that happened with his city of Dwarka after his death. Let us know what is hidden within the story of the Mausal festival.
This incident is 35 years after the battle of Kurukshetra. The city of Dwarka of Krishna was very quiet and happy where youthfulness was very common and they all indulged in indulgence. Once, Krishna’s son Samb decided to do a prank. He took the form of a woman, he went with his friends to meet the sages Vishwamitra, Durvasa, Vasishta and Narada. They all came to Dwarka to attend a formal meeting with Lord Krishna. Samb disguised as a woman told the sages that she was pregnant. They tell her what the sex of the baby is in her womb. One of the sages understood the game and was angry and cursed Samb that he would give birth to an iron arrow, which would destroy their clan and empire.
Samb told all this incident to Ugrasen, Ugrasen asked Samb to make powder of copper arrow and make it flow in Prabhas river, thus he would get rid of that curse. Samba did everything according to what Ugrasen had said. At the same time, Ugrasen also ordered that no form of intoxicants will be produced or distributed in Yadav state. After this incident the people of Dwarka experienced various ominous signs. Sudarshan Chakra the disappearance of Krishna’s conch, his chariot and Balaram’s plow, the increase in crimes and sins, the end of things like shame.
The Yadav state was surrounded by inhumanity and sin. The disrespect of elders and gurus, condemnation, notable increase in feelings like malice etc. had become the life of the people of Dwarka.
Seeing all this, Lord Krishna got upset and asked his subjects to go to the banks of Prabhas river and make a pilgrimage to get rid of their sins. Everyone did the same. But when all the Yadavs reached the banks of the Prabhas river, all the people went there and got drunk and indulged in indulgence. Drunk Satyaki approaches Kritavarma and criticizes him for plotting to kill Ashwatthama and killing the sleeping soldiers of the Pandava army. The same Kritavarma also started accusing Satyaki. The debate progressed and in the meantime, Kritavarma was killed by Satyaki.
Other Yadavs killed Satyaki in the crime of killing Kritavarma. When Krishna came to know about this, he appeared there and lifted the grass in the hand. This grass was transformed into a rod by which Shrikrishna punished the culprits.
All of them took the grass in their hands, and the grass in their hands became iron rod. Due to which all the people clashed among themselves and started killing each other. All others except Vabhru, Daruk and Lord Krishna were killed. After the destruction of Yaduvansh, Krishna’s eldest brother Balarama sat on the beach and concentrated and absorbed into the divine. Thus Balramji, the incarnation of Sheshnag leave his soul.
A piece of iron rod was swallowed by a fish and it went into his stomach and became a piece of metal. A hunter named Ziru caught the fish and spun the piece of metal out of its body to produce an arrow. Krishna was absorbed in meditation while sitting in the forest. Ziru thought he was a deer, he shot an arrow at Krishna, which led to Krishna’s death. After some time Arjuna arrived in Dwarka and became very sad on receiving the news of Krishna’s death. After Krishna’s departure, he had 16000 queens, some women, aged and children remaining in Dwarka. They all started leaving for Indraprastha.
After this, all the gods and heavenly nymphs, Yakshas, Kinnars, Gandharvas etc. came to that area and worshiped Shri Krishna. After worship, Shri Krishna closed his eyes and he returned back to his abode. When Yudhishthra was ruling after the end of the Mahabharata war, Gandhari, the mother of the Kauravas, cursed Sri Krishna for the Mahabharata war that the Yaduvansh would be destroyed just as the Kaurava dynasty was destroyed.
