Why Krishna Did Not Marry Radha
If Lord Krishna wanted Radha so much and Radha too loved Lord Krishna, then why did not Shri Krishna marry Radharani? Know the reason
- There are many types of beliefs in this regard in the scriptures. Some say that Radha was a form of Shri Krishna and not someone else. Scholars say that in the Skanda Purana, Shri Krishna has been called ‘Atmaram’, that is, one who remains blissful in his own soul, he does not need any other for bliss. His soul is Radha. Therefore, you can never separate Radha and Krishna, then there is no question of marriage and separation. Sri Krishna has revealed himself in two forms. It is a beautiful form of God. In the Puranas, this form was seen to be associated with mystery, spirituality, and philosophy.
- According to a legend in Brahmavaivarta Purana, Radha lived in Goloka with Sri Krishna. Once in his absence, Sri Krishna was roaming with his second wife Virja. When Radha arrived, she got angry with Virja and left. Sri Krishna’s servant and friend Sridama did not like Radha’s behavior and started calling Radha very bad. Radha got angry and cursed Sridama to become a demon named Shankhachud in the next life. On this, Sridama also gave birth to him in human form on the earth and cursed him for 100 years. When Radha was cursed, Krishna told her that you will be born in human form, but you will always be with me. This was the reason that Radha and Shri Krishna had lost their childhood.
- According to the Balachand of Ramcharit Manas, Vishnuji once tricked Naradji. Instead of giving him the appearance of himself, he had given the appearance of monkey. Because of this, he became a character of laughter in Lakshmiji’s swayamvara and his desire to marry Lakshmiji remained subdued.
When Naradji came to know of this deceit, he reached Vaikunth in anger and called God very good and cursed him ‘he will have to bear the separation of his wife’. Due to this curse of Naradji, Lord Ramachandraji had to suffer the disconnection of Sita in Ramavatar and Goddess Radha in Krishnaavatar.
- According to other mythology, Radha was five years older than Shri Krishna. Radha saw Sri Krishna for the first time while his mother Yashoda tied him to Okhal. Some say that she had visited Gokul with her father Vrishabhanuji when she first saw Sri Krishna, and according to some scholars, the two met for the first time at the Sanket Tirtha. However, when Radha saw Krishna, she became mad in his love and Krishna too became angry at seeing him. They both fell in love.
Radha used to listen to Shri Krishna’s Murali and dance as a child and she would go out to meet him. When there was a discussion about the love of Krishna and Radha in the village, the people of Radha’s society stopped her from leaving the house. On the other hand, one day Shri Krishna told Mother Yashoda that Mother I want to marry Radha. Hearing this, Yashoda Maiya said that Radha is not the right girl for you. The first is that she is five years older than you and the second is that her matchmaking (Yashode’s brother Rayan) has already taken place from some side and he is in the army of Kansa who has just gone to war. Radha will be married to him when he comes. Therefore you cannot marry him. We will find another bride for you. But Krishna started insisting. Then Yashoda said to Nanda. Krishna did not even listen to Nanda. Then Nandbaba took Krishna to the sage Garga.
The sage Garga explained to Krishna that you were born for a specific goal. It has been predicted that you are the savior. You will establish religion in this world. You should not marry this Gwalan. You have a special goal. Then Shri Krishna says that I do not want to be a savior, I am happy and happy by staying between my cows, gwalanas and these river mountains and if I want to establish religion, should I start with this iniquity that wants me and Leave whom I love? This is not justice.
Garga Muni explains in every way but Krishna does not understand, then Garga Muni tells him in secret that you are not the son of Yashoda and Nanda, the son of Devaki and Vasudev, and Kansa has put your parents in jail.
Shree Krishna and Mandavya Rishi
When Akrurji meets Vidur in Hastinapur, he tells Krishna that Mahatma Vidur is your supreme devotee and he is eager to meet you. Then Shri Krishna says that I too eager to meet Dharmaraja. Hearing this, Akrurji asks Dharmaraja? Then Shri Krishna says yes Dharmaraja, who had to be born on this earth in human form due to the curse of Mandavya Rishi. Let’s know. Story of Mandavya Rishi.
Mandavya Rishi was a great ascetic sage who lived in a hut of his ashram in Khandava forest. One day some people came running and said to the sage that some robbers are behind us who want to kill us and loot all our money, we are businessmen. You protect us, we have come to your shelter. You hide this money in your hut and tell us the way to escape.
The sage Mandavya considers them as merchant and helps them and says that hide this money in that hut and you run away from there. Robbers escapes after hiding the money, when the soldiers of the king come there they catch the sage in the crime of helping the robbers. The sage Mandavya tells them that they were saying that we are traders and some robbers are behind us. Hearing this, the soldiers of the king said, hypocritical monk, you are also with the robbers. Now the king will decide it.
The sage Mandavya is captured and placed in front of the king. The king says that felony is not forgivable under the guise of a monk, so crucify this person.. Mandavya sage tries to convince the king but the king does not understand.
The king’s soldiers offer the Mandavya Rishi to cross, they climb on cross but with his power nothing happened with him. Seeing this miracle, the soldiers go to the king and tell that he is an ascetic sage. Hearing this, the king realizes his guilt and comes to the sage to ask for forgiveness and asks him to take off from the cross. Then the sage Mandavya says that now it will be decide in front of Dharmaraja. Now I am going directly to him from here.
On reaching Dharmaraja, he asks Dharmaraja, knowing that I have not committed any sin in my life, but inadvertently what kind of sin did I have to suffer such a terrible result? Then Dharmaraja says that in your childhood you used to punch horns in the tail section of kites and you got this result of that.
Then the sage Mandavya says that according to theology, whatever a child does from birth to the age of twelve years is not considered unrighteous. Because until that time it remains ignorant. Therefore, you have done injustice to me by calling my foolishness in childhood a sin. The second thing is that you have forgotten that a person sitting on the seat of justice punishes according to the mere crime. Punishing more than that amount of punishment constitutes the sin of doing injustice. And, if they themselves do justice and do injustice to others, then it is called a horrific crime. So hey Dharmaraja To bear the punishment of this sin, you will be born in a human cunt and conceive a Shudra mother and be born in the death world where you will get tired of solving the knots of justice and injustice. This is your punishment.
Mandavya Rishi was also called Annamandavya. He used to do penance by raising his hands under the tree at the door of his ashram.
